Wine Types and Production

The Khareba winery not only promotes traditional wine production, but also the development of rare Georgian grape varieties such as Krakhuna, Tsolikouri, Tsitska, Aladasturi and Otskhanuri Sapere in western Georgia.

European grape varieties such as Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Aligoté, Muscat, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot are also grown in Imereti. The modern wine cellars in Terjola and Kvareli are equipped with the latest European technology and offer the best conditions for winemaking using the Qvevri method and ageing in oak barrels.

The company’s current portfolio includes up to 10 premium wines, 7 designations of origin, 10 Qvevri wines, over 15 grape varieties and 5 base wines. Khareba Winery also produces sparkling wine, brandy, chacha and grape seed oil, making a total of more than 50 products made from up to 30 different grape varieties. An impressive range that will delight both connoisseurs and occasional drinkers.

Wine Tunnel

A unique highlight of the Khareba winery is the impressive wine tunnel and tourism complex ‘Kvareli Wine Cave’, which was built on the edge of the Alazani Valley. This destination attracts both Georgian and foreign tourists, offering unforgettable experiences. The cave, which was opened in 1962 especially for the World Congress of Wine, maintains a constant temperature of 12-16°C. These conditions are ideal for the storage and maturation of wine.
