Climbing in Georgia

Tour Packages, Practical tips and the most famous peaks in Georgia

Overview

Climbing in Georgia has been one of the most popular tourist activities in the country   since Soviet times. This is not surprising as the country is home to the most important and famous mountains and peaks of Caucasus and offers a wide range of routes for professionals and beginners.

Georgia has mountains of almost every level of difficulty, so both beginners and experienced mountaineers will find here something to challenge them. Rock climbing is also available and has made Georgia a popular destination for mountaineers and climbers from all over the world.

Over time, climbing has become almost a national sport in Georgia. This has been greatly helped by the existence of several mountaineering camps, such as Zeskho and Ailama in Svaneti, which have helped many young people develop important skills. This is one of the reasons why Georgia has produced many world-famous mountaineers, both in the past and in the present.

Not only locals, but also foreign adventurers flock to Georgia to climb its majestic peaks. They undertake these expeditions both on their own and under the guidance of experienced local mountain guides. For those who prefer guided tours, since 2019 we have been organising trips that can be booked both in groups and individually.
