Our 14-day round trip through Georgia is a great opportunity to get to know the country and its people, as well as to visit and experience the country’s highlights. The unique cultural monuments, many of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites, and the scenic beauties repeatedly captivate visitors from all over the world.
Our tour programme is designed to allow our guests to get to know all regions of the country (except Abkhazia and Samatschablo/South Ossetia) and experience the diversity of Georgia in all its glory.
Short hikes, occasional free time and the opportunity to experience the warm hospitality of the Georgians are what make a stay in this country so fascinating and attractive.

Tbilisi has been the heart of Georgia for 1500 years. Its rich history is characterised by a variety of religions and cultures. On our city tour, we will immerse ourselves in the famous sulphur baths, stroll over the Bridge of Peace to Freedom Square and Pushkin Square.
We will continue to the imposing Nari-Kala fortress, the Anchiskhati and Metekhi churches, a mosque and a synagogue. And of course, a visit to the Mother of Georgia is not to be missed. After a light meal, you are free to explore the city on your own. In the evening, we will indulge in delicious dishes and exquisite Georgian wines in an authentic Georgian restaurant.

Georgia is known as the cradle of wine and is famous for its great winemaking tradition. More than 425 grape varieties are native to the country. Most of them thrive in Kakheti, the country’s most famous wine region.
Our round trip through Georgia naturally also takes us through this wine region. First, we will visit the monastery of Gareja, which is located on the border with Azerbaijan in a picturesque semi-desert. According to legend, it was founded in the 6th century by Davit, one of the 13 fathers of Azerbaijan.
Here we can admire the colourful frescoes of the monastery from the 10th to 13th century. For lunch, we recommend a cosy restaurant in the village of Udabno, before continuing on to Sighnaghi.

After breakfast, we will take a walk around the town and explore the historic city walls of Sighnaghi. We will also enjoy breathtaking views of the Alazani Plain and the majestic Caucasus Mountains.
Our tour will take us to the nunnery in Bodbe, where Saint Nino, one of the most important figures in Georgian history, found her final resting place.
Wine culture is an important part of our tour of Georgia. On the way to Telavi, we will stop at the palace of the Georgian prince Chavchavadze in Tsinandali. There, a wine tasting and a small snack await us at the neighbouring Shumi winery. Afterwards, we will continue over the picturesque Gombori Pass to Mtskheta.

Mtskheta‘s rich archaeological finds and some historical buildings bear witness to its important past. The Svetitskhoveli Monastery from the 12th century and the Jvari Church from the 7th century are among the city’s outstanding attractions and have been declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
On a round trip through Georgia, the famous military road to Stepantsminda is an absolute must that we will not miss. We will stop at the Jinvali Dam and visit the Ananuri Castle.
From the Jvari Pass, we will enjoy a magnificent view and, after crossing the pass at an altitude of 2600 m, we will reach Stepantsminda in the evening.

Stepantsminda is located in the mountains at an altitude of 1,500 metres and is a popular destination for travellers on a round trip through Georgia. The day begins with a hike or an organised trip to the monastery of Gergeti, which was built in the 14th century at the foot of Mount Kazbeg (5047 m) at an altitude of 2200 m.
In the afternoon, the route passes through the picturesque Sno Valley to the village of Juta. From there, you can either hike up Mount Tschauchi or enjoy the breathtaking view from Café Zeta at an altitude of 2200 m. This route is part of a well-known hiking trail that starts in Stepantsminda and goes all the way to Omalo in Tusheti.
The round trip takes about 2-3 hours. A light packed lunch is provided.

Our journey through Georgia continues and the landscape changes as we travel from the east to the west of Georgia, to the country’s second largest city, Kutaisi. In the afternoon, we visit Gori, the birthplace of Stalin, and the ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe, which was built between the 4th and 6th centuries.
Uplistsikhe was once an important trading centre and religious centre that played a crucial role in the political and social life of the Georgians.
In Gori there is an opportunity to visit the Stalin Museum. After a lunch break, we will drive over the Rikoti Pass to Kutaisi, where we will spend the night.

We start the day with a city tour of Kutaisi, the second largest city in Georgia, and visit the famous farmers’ market.
The Motsameta Church in picturesque surroundings and the Gelati Cathedral, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, are also on the programme. The rest of the day is free to spend at your leisure in Kutaisi.

Svaneti attracts visitors from all over the world with its unique defense towers, chapels with fascinating wall paintings from the 12th and 13th centuries and the breathtaking mountain landscape of the Caucasus.
Today marks the beginning of a particularly beautiful part of our tour of Georgia. On the way, we will stop at some special places, such as the old fortresses in Lechkhumi or a picturesque place with a trout farm, where we will spend our lunch break.
After about two hours’ drive, we arrive at our destination – Lentekhi, the administrative centre of Lower Svaneti. After checking in, we take a short hike of 2-3 hours through the forest to a mineral water spring.

Today we will take a scenic drive through the valley of the Lashkhuri River to the foothills of the Caucasus. We will cross the Lasdili Pass at an altitude of 2,600 metres, a popular route for jeep tours in Georgia, and finally reach Ushguli.
Ushguli is located at an altitude of 2200 metres, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is a famous destination for hikes in Svaneti. From here we have a magnificent view of the highest mountain in Georgia, Shkhara, which we can admire and photograph.
A walk through the village allows us to experience the full beauty of Uschguli. In the evening, we will continue on to Mestia, where we will spend the night.

We will start the day with a ride in a chairlift to the mountain Zuruldi (2300 m) (depending on the weather). There we will have a fantastic view of the mountains of the Caucasus and the Svaneti range. In the afternoon we will visit the Mestia museum and then we will have some free time.

Today we will cover the longest distance of our round trip in Georgia – from Mestia to Borjomi. Borjomi is a well-known resort town in the Lesser Caucasus. We will spend the night here and have the opportunity to taste the famous Borjomi mineral water.
In Borjomi, guests will have the opportunity to hike to the sulfur springs and bathe in the thermal baths. It’s a very special part of nor round trip in Georgia.

The southern part of Georgia, the Javakheti region in the Lesser Caucasus, boasts unique historical monuments and picturesque landscapes. On today’s slightly longer drive, we will reach the cave monastery of Vardzia, which was founded in the 12th century.
The cave monastery of Vardzia, built in the 12th century, is on our programme today and will be visited in the afternoon. The rest of the day is free for us to enjoy the beautiful garden of our accommodation on the river Kura.

The last day of our tour of Georgia begins with the drive back to Tbilisi after breakfast.
The route leads over the high plateau of the Lesser Caucasus and offers scenic views. On the way, we will stop at the beautiful Paravani and Saghamo lakes before arriving in Tbilisi in the evening. Here we are happy to organise a farewell dinner for our guests to round off the trip in style.

The currency used in Georgia is the Georgian Lari. The exchange rate to the euro is approximately 1:3. Please note that this rate can be very volatile and subject to change.
Khachapuri (stuffed cheese bread), Khinkali (dumplings), Georgian wine, and Shashlik (grilled meat) are a must.
On our tours, guests travel in a comfortable vehicle, which is included in the price. The country has a good network of buses, minibuses and trains. Taxis and rental cars are also available.
The official language is Georgian, but many residents also speak Russian and English, especially in tourist areas.
There is a wide range of accommodation, from hostels to luxury hotels. Airbnb and traditional guesthouses are also common.
Respect for older people, appropriate clothing in religious sites and removing shoes when entering houses are important.
Hiking, mountaineering, skiing in the winter months, white water rafting and climbing are very popular in Georgia.
Hospitality is a great tradition. Accepting invitations to dinner or for a glass of wine is often a gesture of friendship. Respect for religious sites is also important.
