Itinerary

Day 1.Tbilisi - Lentekhi

Our tour to Svaneti starts with a drive to Lentekhi. On the way, we make some interesting stops. We visit Gori, the birthplace of Joseph Stalin, and the ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe, which was built between the 4th and 6th centuries.

Uplistsikhe was once an important trading centre and a religious centre that played a major role in the political and social life of the Georgians. Although the site was severely damaged by earthquakes and the Mongols, the remains of the amphitheatre, the gladiatorial arena, the temples and the caves still exert a fascinating attraction on visitors today.

In Gori, we also have the opportunity to visit the Stalin Museum if interested. After a lunch break, we will continue our journey over the Rikoti Pass, which will take us via Kutaisi to Lentekhi, where we will spend the night.
