Bereits drei Mal hatte ich das Vergnügen, mit Giorgi zu reisen und ich kann sagen, dass ich jede Minute genossen haben. Die Routen wurden individuell geplant und unseren Interessen angepasst. Giorgi ist alles, was man sich von einem guten Guide erwartet: nett und sympathisch, verlässlich, pünktlich, flexibel, geduldig und belastbar ... letzteres bewies er, als er eine Woche lang mit mir und vier weiteren schnatternden Mädels unterwegs war :). Eine Reise mit ihm kann ich aus tiefster Überzeugung empfehlen, zumal er nicht nur jede Ecke von Georgien kennt, sondern auch Einblicke in die Kultur und Geschichte gibt . Für ihn ist es nicht einfach nur ein Job, seinen Gästen die Vielseitigkeit und Schönheit seines Landes zu zeigen, sondern eine Herzenssache. Wohler kann man sich kaum fühlen. Giorgi spricht perfekt deutsch, kennt das Land und seine Geschichte. Auf ihn ist einfach Verlass. Er ist ein sehr authentischer und angenehmer Guide auf den man sich zu 1000 Prozent verlassen kann. Dankbar für die wunderschöne Zeit in diesem spannenden Land. Auch die Kulinarik lässt nichts zu wünschen übrig - selbst für mich als Vegetarier. Einfach nur empfehlenswert - Giorgi als Guide und natürlich das Land. Wir haben das kleine und so vielfältige Land schon 2x mit Giorgi erkundet. Er spricht gut deutsch. Alles klappte bestens! Zuerst machten wir in kleiner Gruppe eine Kulturreise von Tbilisi über Swanetien, dem Land der Wehrtürme und schneebedeckten Berge, bis ans Schwarze Meer. Giorgis Stadtführungen sind kenntnisreich und unterhaltsam. Stärken konnten wir uns unterwegs in familiengeführten Lokalen mit ausgezeichneter georgischen Küche. Es waren abwechslungsreiche, unvergessliche Eindrücke! Die 2. Reise war eine Trekkingtour. Giorgi holte einen ortsansässigen Bergführer hinzu, mit dem wir in die eisbedeckte Gipfelregion der Laila, eines 4000ers, aufstiegen. Wir sind zufällig und auf Umwegen auf das Unternehmen mit Giorgi in Georgien gestoßen. Er konnte unsere sehr individuellen Reisewünsche per Fahrrad auch in den Osten dieses wunderschönen Reiselandes zwischen Schwarzem Meer und Aserbaidschan umsetzen. Zwischenzeitlich haben wir zwei sehr bemerkenswerte Reisen mit ihm unternommen: eine wunderschöne Fahrradtour durchs Weinland Kachetien und den Kleinen Kaukasus bis Batumi sowie eine Kombitour Fahrrad, Wandern und Auto über Gori, Hoher Kaukasus nach Adcharien. Oft war es abenteuerlich, dank hervorragender Organisation nie gefährlich. Wir haben viele freundliche, offene, interessierte Menschen nicht nur in den Bergdörfern kennengelernt. Die georgische Küche ist legendär gut, die Landschaften herrlich/traumhaft, das Wetter im Mai, Juni, Juli und September sehr angenehm (August zu heiß). Die Unterkünfte typisch georgisch in kleinen bemerkenswerten Pensionen/Familienhotels! Sehr Gerne immer wieder mit Georgi durch dieses schöne Land! Our photo tour to Georgia starts with a trip to the wine region of Kakheti. Our first destination is the picturesque Davit Gareji Steppe in the far east of Georgia. After visiting the Gareji Monastery, we continue to the enchanting town of Sighnaghi. From here you have an impressive view of the famous Alazani Plain and the majestic Caucasus Mountains.
In the evening, we will visit an idyllic winery that offers numerous photo opportunities. Of course, we will take the opportunity to taste Georgian wines and enjoy a delicious dinner.

Early in the morning, we will set off for the picturesque cattle market of Kabali. Every Sunday, there is a lively trade here. Traders and visitors from near and far flock here to buy and sell animals of all kinds, from turkeys to water buffalo, as well as food, clothing, furniture, spare parts and tools. This market is a photographer’s paradise. Therefore, today is a special day for the photo tour in Georgia.
Activities start early in the morning, so we will leave our accommodation at around 6:30 am. After an hour’s drive, we will arrive at Kabali, where we will spend about 3 hours. After that, we will continue to Tbilisi, where we will spend the night.

Today’s journey takes us along the famous Georgian Military Road Stepantsminda (1,740 m) in the Greater Caucasus, offering plenty of opportunities for taking photographs. We have the chance to admire the architecture of old castles and churches, enjoy the breathtaking scenery and experience the hospitality of the Georgians.
On today’s tour, we will visit the 7th-century Jvari Church and the Svetitskhoveli Cathedral in Mtskheta, both of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The Ananuri Castle at the Jinvali Dam is also worth visiting.

Today we start the day early to photograph the majestic Mount Mkinvari at sunrise. The Trinity Church, set against the stunning backdrop of the mountain, is one of the most famous images in the country.
After breakfast, we first make our way to Trinity Church at an altitude of 2200 metres. Afterwards, the journey takes us to the Truso Valley, where we capture the picturesque landscape, old village ruins and towers. We will have a picnic lunch at a nunnery.
In the afternoon, we will return to Stepantsminda and have time to enjoy the surroundings.

On the journey from Stepantsminda to Gori, the landscape changes. Gori, the birthplace of Stalin, is an important city in the Kertli region. The highlight of the day is a visit to the ancient cave city of Uplistsikhe from the 6th to 4th century BC. In Gori, we will spend the night in a charming family hotel and winery in the Ateni Valley.

Today promises to be a particularly exciting day of our photo tour in Georgia, as we explore the charming town of Chiatura in the region of Imereti. Chiatura is a small town that impresses with its many Soviet buildings and cable cars. Manganese was mined here as early as the 19th century and this tradition continued during the Soviet era, resulting in a well-preserved infrastructure.
The old cable car stations from the 1950s and 1960s are particularly fascinating and offer wonderful photo opportunities. Various buildings and monuments also invite you to take pictures. In the evening we continue to Kutaisi. On the way we stop at the small chapel Katskhis Sveti.

What fascinates our guests most on photo trips in Georgia is the abandoned city of Tskaltubo.
It is an absolute must for all guests who take part in a photo trip to Georgia. In the morning, we explore the city of Kutaisi and make a detour to the famous farmers’ market.
Here we find abandoned guesthouses that have been reclaimed by nature and there is much to discover. The visual impressions are overwhelming. In the evening we return to Kutaisi and stay overnight.

A photo trip to Georgia would be incomplete without Svaneti. This mountainous region is not only very popular with photographers, but also with mountaineers, hikers, ethnologists and those interested in culture.
The highest and most important peaks in the Caucasus are located in this region. The characteristic 900-year-old defensive towers and chapels with their wall paintings make Svaneti unique.
The highlight of today is a boat trip on the Enguri reservoir. In the evening we reach Mestia and after dinner we capture the evening atmosphere of the village and the surrounding mountains on our photos.

Today we take a day trip to Ushguli, a picturesque village located at an altitude of 2,200 m at the foot of the highest mountain in Georgia, Shkhara. Ushguli is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and offers a wealth of fascinating photo opportunities.
After a tour together, our guests will have free time to explore the area individually and capture their personal favourite motifs. In the evening, we will return to Mestia.

We will spend the whole day in Mestia again and enrich our photo tour through Georgia with breathtaking pictures of the mountain landscape. Our guests will have free time to explore the area on their own until the late afternoon.
In the evening, we will visit a hospitable family in the village of Latali. There we will organise an evening of cooking and enjoy traditional Swanean specialities.

Today we leave Svaneti and drive to Kutaisi. Here we have the opportunity to explore the city and experience the atmosphere of Georgia’s second largest city. Among other things, we will visit the lively farmers’ market, where we can capture impressive images of everyday life.

Today we have no fixed programme and a day off on our photo tour of Georgia. The only planned activity is the trip to Tbilisi. Here our guests have the freedom to explore the city, stroll through the streets or just relax.

On the last day of our photo tour in Georgia, we will explore the capital, Tbilisi, with our tour guide. The old town and its beautiful attractions are on our programme today.
